International Summer School « Environmental and Planetary Health »

Members of the Cités team will participate in the 4th edition of the International Summer School « Environmental and Planetary Health ».
This summer school will take place from June 24 to 26, 2026, at the Demeures de Varennes. Building on the success of the previous editions held in 2019, 2022, and 2024, this new edition will focus on climate change and the exposome, and their combined effects on human health.
Originally organized by the Mondor Institute for Biomedical Research (IMRB) and Inserm Team METATOX, the 2026 Summer School will be organized in collaboration with Inserm’s Booster Programs “Exposome” and “Climate Change and Health.”
The Summer School will bring together researchers and students from a wide range of disciplines to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and knowledge exchange. Key topics will include the role of heat and climate change, the exposome in human diseases, and the health impacts on vulnerable populations. The program will also feature dedicated sessions on methods to assess exposome exposure, as well as on the role of French and European agencies and predictive tools in evaluating environmental health impacts.
Over the course of three days, participants will benefit from lectures and discussions led by approximately 20 leading national and international investigators at the forefront of environmental and planetary health research. The Summer School will host around 40 early-career researchers and young investigators, offering a stimulating environment for networking and collaboration.
